April Showers???

Where is spring?? We are ready to be outside running around! I will say the last two days the third graders have done an awesome job being flexible during indoor recess.

May 4th: Green Up Day (Info in Friday Folders)
May 7th: Early Release Day
May 10th: 3rd Grade Play at Morning Assembly
May 18th: ECHO Field Trip (Permission Slip coming home Friday)
May 15th/16th: Math SBAC

Fairy Tales: We have been very busy in third grade reading and writing fairy tales! We started by checking out some favorite fairy tales and then studying adaptations other authors have written. Now we are deep into writing our own adaptations. Ask your child which original fairy tale they are adapting.

Science: In science, we have been talking about characteristics of living things and adapting to different environments. We did a series of experiments during WIN time to see which type of bird beak would be best for different types of food! Ask your child which type of beak they thought would be best and what their evidence is!

Catching Up!

Hello Third Grade Families!
I am finally getting around to uploading some photos and giving us a look ahead to our busy spring calendar :)

Please remember this week on Tuesday and Wednesday (April 10th and 11th) we will be taking the English Language Arts SBAC assessment in the morning. It is important your children are well rested on these days. Thank you for your support!

May 7th: Author Visit and Early Release Day
May 15th and 16th: Math SBAC assessment
May 18th: ECHO Field Trip (permission slip will be coming home soon)

At the end of March we enjoyed a wonderful Four Winds time and got to practice making nests using different materials!

On our trip to the Heavenly Pantry, we learned about how they help our community. I am always impressed by the third graders' thoughtful questions. We enjoyed walking with our Kindergarten buddies!

Thank you to everyone that joined us at Breakfast and Bridges! Hopefully you will get to continue to learn more about our workplaces and enjoy more math fun by playing the games sent home on Friday.
